5 Ways to reduce your toxic load

Every day we encounter countless harmful substances in our every day lives. The term ‘toxic load’ refers to the accumulation of chemicals and substances in the body that are invested or absorbed through the skin.

The average woman unknowingly puts approximately 156 chemicals into their body every single day. Sounds scary hey??
Our bodies actively try and eliminate these toxins but over time it can start to have effects on our health.
So what can you do ?? A lot actually. There are many little changes you can make to your every day life to help reduce your own toxic load.

Clean up your beauty

Yes natural beauty is trending. Choosing brands and products with an eco friendly ethos should be a priority in 2020.

When was the last time you did a good clear out of your makeup and beauty products?? You are possibly holding on to products that won't be as effective anymore or worse are a lovely little home for harmful bacteria to live. Cant remember the last time you used something? Bin it! Make room for the products you love.

Ditch harsh cleaners

Swap your heavy duty cleaners for clean and green cleaning products or start making them yourself. There a so many great DIY cleaner recipes that you can try and your body will thank you for it. 

Ditch commercial perfumes

Well known for their chemical filled ingredients list this should be something you farewell and fast. Some of the chemicals used in conventional perfumes are known hormone disruptors and can irritate the skin.

Eat cleaner

Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants differ not only by what they detoxify but also by their colour, so get in a range of differently coloured fruits and vegetables to get a range of detoxifying nutrients. Also, go organic where you can to minimise the level of pesticides.

Wash your fruits in veggies to remove chemicals. You can even use Apple cider vinegar in your water to clean them before consumption.

Avoid plastics and bottles ect that contain BPA. Start shopping smart with eco friendly reusable cups, bottles and straws.

Move your body 

The skin is your ultimate detoxifier. Movement and sweat are a great way to remove toxins through the skin, and exercise can help get systems (i.e. circulatory, digestive and lymphatic systems) working and moving to help get rid of waste.
